Project Overview
NetServ
is a large telecommunication and network solutions provider.
Spicore was initially contacted by Netserv as a partner
to assist in their client’s web design and development
needs. After forming a partnership program, NetServ
requested additional assistance to develop an online
eCommerce system and preferred product extranet. This
secure B2B system would allow preferred partners convenient
access to specially priced products and services.
Challenge
For many years NetServ has maintained a large client
base who supply telephony and network product solutions.
Until recently, they had ran a traditional business
system, manually processing orders through the telephone
and often requiring many man hours. This method lead
to possible miscommunication, and poor customer response
became an unwanted possibility. NetServ not only wanted
to automate the process of product ordering, but also
wanted to provide preferred clients exclusive product
and pricing lists. Accounts for individual clients would
allow them to see the only compatible products that
they would need. Specialized pricing and specific documentation
and white papers specific to clients was asked to be
included in the product package.
Solutions
The solution for the NetServ project was to create
an online shopping cart that would list and display
the thousands of products offered. As a preferred partner
with companies such as Cisco Systems, 3Com, Nortel,
Citrix, and Nortel, NetServ needed a robust shopping
cart that could handle an immense number of orders,
along with the B2B extranet for preferred partners to
access specific product offerings.
The shopping cart module is designed to give visitors
easy access to over 4,000 products available through
NetServ Direct. Standard eCommerce features integrate
into the site, giving consumers worldwide access to
NetServ’s product line and services.
By building a custom admin feature that allows NetServ
to create mini eCommerce sites for various clients.
This option dynamically generates sections for clients,
providing them with a unique username and password,
giving them exclusive access to specific product offerings.
They then view products specific to their account, acting
quickly to purchase these additional products for their
respected companies’ gain.
The corporate extranet also allow NetServ to post specific
PDF files of product specification, detailed product
schema, and “white papers” for clients.
Provide information specifically for each individual
client allowing them to find the customize resources
they need for their business quickly.
Results
NetServ created a strong competitive advantage by offering
product exclusives and viable partnerships with all
its customers. NetServ clients now log on to the site
through their corporate extranet, easily ordering telephony
and network products at exclusive prices. The shopping
cart feature is essential in organizing orders in the
web world, and Netserv realizes it was time to take
full advantage and reap the benefits of a significant
upgrade.
NetServ not only increased customer care and service
ratings, but also improved time of delivery on products
while offering exclusive manuals, product specifications,
and “white papers” online geared specifically
